A: The transfer flaps of the bath lift are hinged and will flip up as you lower the chair down. They gently ride along the sides of the tub as the lift lowers. When the lift is raised they will ride along the sides of the tub, when the lift reaches the top of the tub, the transfer flaps flatten out on the entry/ exit side of the tub to cover the gap between the bath lift and the edge of the bath tub. It is now unusual for the transfer flap on the wall side of the tub to remain in an angled position.
