Q: A couple people mentioned there is very little leg room. How close to the back of tub does the bath lift set?? - Melinda

bellavita-bath-lifts-300x225.jpgA: There are a few factors that will determine the leg room in the bath tub with a bath lift.

- The length of the floor of the bath tub

- The height of the individual using the bath lift

- Will the individual recline the bath lift.

The Drive Medical Whisper Ultra Quiet and Bellavita bath lifts are constructed where the back rest does sits forward of the frame , creating a 4" tail, this pushes the individual forward in the bath tub.

The Bathmaster Sonaris 2 and Deltis Bath lifts are construct when the back rest in even with the frame, which provides an additional 4" of legroom.

Reclining a bath lift is much like bringing a recliner into you living room, when the back hits the wall you must push the lift forward, causing the legroom to be limited. The recline is controlled by the user on the Bellavita, Whisper , Deltis and Sonaris 2 bath lifts. In shorter tubs, the individual may not be able to recline as far and move the bath lift further back in the tub
